Our early service on Sunday mornings is Rite I or the traditional Eucharist.
During the first five Sundays in Lent (with coffee in hand) in JBH from 9:10 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. the parish is participating in Lectionary Circles A facilitator will guide you in circles of five to focus on the Gospel of the day by asking how it "speaks to you". It is an amazing sharing process that will bring about a fresh appreciation for Scripture.
St. Matthew's 10:15 a.m. service is a choral eucharist, with the involement of our Chancel Choir, often augmented by the Children's Choir or Bell Choir. This is our "Family Service", providing both Sunday School and Nursery care for the younger ones.
Laying On of Hands
Each Sunday, following the main service there is the Laying on of Hands in the Chapel.
Candlelight Taize Services
All St. Matthew parishioners, family members and friends are warmly invited to attend a candlelight service of prayer and chant to be the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the Chapel of the Church of St. Matthew. Taize is an ecumenical monastic community in France dedicated to spreading the message of peace and reconciliation among all people of the world. St. Matthew Chapter of Daughters of the King will sponsor this service as a way of carrying this Gospel message into our neighborhood. Everyone is invited to attend....this would be a beautiful way to introduce your friends to our church community. For more information please email Gabrielle Gross at gabriellepax@comcast.net
Each morning at 9:00 a.m., there is a service of Morning Prayer in the Side Chapel
During the school year (September through June), on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School welcomes you to participate in their morning chapel service. A brief 15 minute service with homily, its how our kids' start their morning - how about you?
